WHY POST CLOSING IS IMPORTANT

This is a prime example of why POST-CLOSING is critical to a title insurance company’s operation. Many title professionals expect a post closing call “here or there”. Usually when the seller has a mountain of debt to payoff at settlement and a million checks are disbursed. After settlement customer service is not an option it’s a mandatory obligation as well as a liability. A policy holder should never call you more than once. CELEBRITY FORECLOSURE

The word “Foreclosure” is creeping it’s ugly head in Hollywood and this time it’s not in a horror flick. Johnny Carson’s much beloved sidekick Ed McMahon is facing the loss of his estate. The home is located in the prestigious community of Bel Air, California. The 6 bedroom 6 bath home is listed by Hilton & Hyland Real Estate. Although the property is for sale it has not sold for more than 2 years and McMahon has subsequently defaulted on his 4.6 million dollar mortgage. McMahon is $644,000 in arrears with ReconTrust a Division of Countrywide Financial. McMahon, 85 has been unsuccessful in landing new roles as a pitchman. Apparently the property will not sale because of it’s close proximately to the home of Britney Spears. The Realtor Alex Davis, says “When we were trying to sell the house one time, there were about 100 paparazzi there”. Hopefully McMahon will be able to work something out with his lender. I just think there should be a law that prohibits seniors from losing their homes.
